President Obama said in an interview that for the past year and a half his views on gay marriage have been "evolving". The President has been tip-toeing the line between satisfying the rank-and-file Democrats, while also trying not alienate those crucial independent voters who could be turned off by the emotional social issue. Already Vice President Biden has commented, saying that he is just fine with men marrying men, women marrying women, and men marrying women and are entitled to the same rights, civil rights, and civil liberties. What do you think?
There's absolutely no reason two people of the same sex shouldn't be allowed to marry. Anyone who says otherwise is probably a bigot, or just misinformed. Or doesn't care at all.
ReplyDeletegood for obama stepping up and being honest. people who are gay, or bi shouldn't be denied the benefits of straight marriages. they aren't affecting straight people in any way.

I have no problem with gay marriage. I agree that they should have all the same legal benefits as any other couple. That being said, if a religion chooses to not see their relationship as what is defined by their religion, they don't have to recognize it personally, but it should stay personally. They can believe it's a sin but there shouldn't be laws prohibiting. Separation of church and state. And for those that worry about family values being destroyed, look at all the dysfunctional hetero-sexual relationships. It would be way better to be raised in a loving homosexual family than in an abusive heterosexual one.
